What to Expect

A supported, immersive week of service.

From orientation and accommodations to meaningful service and time to experience Uganda, each stay is thoughtfully supported.

Duration

A one-week immersive stay

Volunteer stays are designed around a one-week experience, with options for a longer commitment available by request.

Location

The convent campus in Nkokonjeru

The Sisters operate a hospital, school, and college on the campus, creating many opportunities for thoughtful volunteer service.

Guidance before and throughout your stay

A required virtual orientation takes place before travel. During the stay, volunteers receive support from an on-site host and caretaker, program leadership, and LSOSF leadership.

Service shaped with care

Activities are driven by current needs and thoughtfully planned to incorporate each volunteer’s interests, experience, and abilities.

Volunteers stay in a small, modest LSOSF home on the convent campus that accommodates six to eight guests. Meals are prepared by the cook and caretaker in the on-site kitchen.

Culture and community

Three locally guided outings

Three LSOSF-directed outings with a local guide offer volunteers an opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Uganda during their stay.

Transportation

Airport transfers are included

Arrival and departure airport transportation are included as part of the volunteer experience.
